Yes it seems like a good plan - sustainable items you can explore but Causebox inflates what you receive. A very scammy feel. My first was the Fall 2020 and for the price, only receiving 3 items I could easily get somewhere else was a bummer. It took forever to get my order but I guess it was do ton Covid.
I got my first Causebox today. I didn't have a problem GETTING it...it did a long time but I did get it. Reading the description of what it promises is NOT what I got. I somehow expected products made by micro businesses run by women in poverty stricken countries. Instead the stuff I got came from India OR WORSE CHINA. The bamboo cutting board and 2 tools, the basil metal planter..(although the basil seeds came from Italy) and possibly the candle holder all were MADE IN CHINA. I'm really REALLY trying NOT to buy anything made in China. It's hard but I'm trying. The cotton bathrobe is OK and not made in China but in India so that's better. There was a copper bracelet I think it's copper I have no idea where it was made and a bottle "face brightening oil" with no content description or where it was made. I foolishly rubbed someone my face and it turned bright red. I won't be renewing.

they charged me for a box and it was never delivered. they will not respond to emails or phone calls. they are thieves.
In find it interesting that the only positive reviews on this company are “invited.” Were these people compensated for their five star reviews?
I really liked the concept of this company and I certainly understand that you can’t please everyone with the contents of the boxes they send, however, my complaint has nothing to do with that.
As most others have indicated, the lack of transparency regarding shipping times on Market Orders is outrageous. It is clearly stated when you make the purchase that items would start to ship out at the end of December. It is February 18th and I still haven’t received my Market Orders. I’ve sent two emails regarding their lack of communication and was responded to in a rather arrogant manner. They were quick to charge my credit card in December, a policy most reputable companies don’t engage in. Typically your credit card isn’t charged until shipping actually happens.
I’ve cancelled my future boxes and would not recommend dealing with this company. Communication and transparency is key, and this company is not successful in either.
I love my CAUSEBOX! I've loved it for the things I get in the box and now I love them even more for great customer service. I did not receive the email prompt to choose my items for the Winter Box and when I did get the email that it had shipped, I contacted customer support immediately. As it had already been shipped there wasn't much they could do but once I got the box and it didn't have a couple of things I really wanted, they promptly sent them to me, no charge. It was a great customer service experience in a time when I've had lots of poor experiences and annoying COVID-related shipping delays and dropped balls by companies. I really appreciated the above and beyond attention and highly recommend. (Thanks Paolo and Angelo!! <3)
Literally ordered stuff from the Marketplace in November. Still have not received. Every time I send an email they point me to their shipping FAQ's which change constantly. If it didn't say it when I ordered, it's not relevant. I also have not received my winter box. The stuff is... fine. But the company is terrible. Don't bother subscribing.
UPDATE: I (very suspiciously) had my items ship right after this review posted. SO i guess if you want your stuff, complain here. I got basically what amounted to a box of trash. The tea kettle, that I was excited about, can not be used as a kettle. As soon as it got hot the water started pouring out of the spout and all over my stove. It continued to do so even when I moved it to the sink and dumped out half the water. This stuff is cheap and not worth a penny. Really wish i had not subscribed annually.
I am not sure what is going on with Causebox as even when I email they have no clear explanation or ability to resolve very late delivery issues. The latest was that I have to wait another 5-10 days to just receive a notice that my box has shipped - never mind the actual time to deliver! Additionally, they keep changing their policies and would not cancel my order despite only being subscribed to seasonal plan. I will be pursuing a refund and complaint through my credit card company and BBB. I am actually quite sad as I love the notion behind this business.... :-(
Their customer service is incredible. Though it takes a few days for them to respond, they are so kind and helpful. Seems like they really care about their causes and customers. I had an issue with one of the quarterly boxes I received and they dealt with it in a timely and professional way. I would definitely recommend causebox.
I have been subscribed to CAUSEBOX since Fall 2018 and I can't even begin to explain the sheer JOY that this subscription box gives me! When I first heard about CAUSEBOX I was very intrigued by their mission and ethical impact. I thought it was so cool that I could indulge myself with self care products while helping others and the planet. Little did I know that I would absolutely fall in love with everything about this subscription box. From the products, to the causes, to the artists (each box is designed by an artist and includes a postcard by the same artist), to the add-on marketplace; I was hooked. I can safely say that CAUSEBOX products are a part of my daily life, from the coffee cup I use in the morning to the blanket I snuggle up with on the couch after a long day, I'm enjoying my CAUSEBOX goodies. On top of all that, the customer service I have received has been amazing. Every question or concern I've had has been followed up on promptly and courteously. Obviously, I can't say enough good things about CAUSEBOX! I look forward to my box so much each season and can't wait to see what the future holds for this awesome company.

I just received my first cause box! I love everything in it! I am in love with the serum and massager. My face is glowing and softer than ever. I am almost 58 ! I have tried everything in the market, and I mean 300 $ items. I am so elated that I did not listen to all the negative reviews. Just in the past week I have told at least ten people to check it out! Also, did a bit of shopping on the open market. My only complaint is the slow customization of the box ! One item at a time?
Very impressed. My first box was worth more than the entire four boxes. Happy Maggie
Amazing customer service! I reached out and they got back to me within 24 hours. Their rep, Monica, was so kind, helpful and thoughtful. I love the sustainability and mission behind their company, and their kind customer service made it even better! I’m a causebox fan for sure - Definitely recommend :)

I really wanted to love the fall box, but they spent more on the mini magazine insert with product descriptions than the actually towels I received. They tried to put a $90 value on some cheap waffle towels they described as "unbelievably cozy and superbly soft". They were neither. I wonder if the buyer even felt them? I also received some facial cotton rounds for the face from China, but no explanation as to the cause there. I like the idea of the box, but the quality and cause are a bit questionable.
